The Province of British Columbia has enacted legislation effective April 1, 2009 requiring all home inspectors to be licensed by the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority of British Columbia. As long standing members of the Home Inspectors Association BC (HIABC), British Columbia Pillar To Post inspectors have been requesting this type of legislation and consumer protection for quite some time. It is finally in place. All our inspectors are in full compliance with the requirements of this legislation.
Pillar To Post is #1 according to Entrepreneur Magazine for the past 6 years. That’s because our inspectors are highly trained in the classroom as well as in the field before joining our team of inspection professionals. Membership in the Home Inspectors Association BC (HIABC) is compulsory. The educational requirements and testing necessary to become a full member of HIABC (ie. Accredited Home Inspector or AHI) are extensive. Maintaining membership requires continuing education through attendance at regularly scheduled regional seminars and annual conferences.
With HIABC’s continuing education, Head Office support/updates and regular staff meetings, our Inspectors are always up to date with current market issues and ongoing construction innovation. Keeping our inspection and service skills at a high level will always be a priority.
You can feel confident with your choice of a Pillar To Post home inspection professional!
